Niranjan Saggurti

Senior Program Officer, Population Council

Since joining the organization in 2006, Dr. Saggurti has overseen two major research projects at the India's Population Council office. Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, one project examines HIV risk among Indian migrant men and the other provides documentation of the Avahan programmatic learnings in India. Saggurti also works on several existing NIH-funded research projects including three separate behavioral HIV and family planning intervention efficacy studies. Dr. Saggurti is a demographer and biostatistician with extensive HIV and intervention research expertise in India. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed professional journal articles focused on HIV, sexual health, alcohol, tuberculosis, and maternal and child health services.
