Daniel Altman
President, North Yard Economics

Daniel Altman has been writing about innovative financing since the first mechanisms to support global health were preparing to launch five years ago. As co-author of Power in Numbers: UNITAID, Innovative Financing, and the Quest for Massive Good (PublicAffairs, 2010), he has offered an incisive and forward-looking analysis of the field—the first such analysis for general audiences—and has applied economic rationales to the coordination of innovative financing mechanisms and their integration into the broader aid community. A trained academic economist, he has also authored working papers about innovative financing for education and the effects of innovative financing mechanisms on contributors. North Yard Economics is a not-for-profit consulting firm serving developing countries.
