Dr. Stefaan Van der Borght

Dr. Stefaan Van der Borght is Director of the Health Affairs Department at international brewer, Heineken. Heineken is committed to providing in-house quality healthcare for employees and their families when suitable external services cannot be procured. Van der Borght joined the company in 1999 as Corporate Health Advisor. He has worked in low income countries for 14 years, spending three years in Kinshasa (RCD) as medical director for the local Heineken and before that with Médecins Sans Frontières in Cambodia, Angola, Sudan, Chad and other African countries. He has published in peer-reviewed journals on the Heineken HIV workplace programme. His interests are HIV prevention and treatment, poverty related diseases, and health economics.
